Billing and Vix Credits (rolling out)

How a cloud run is charged, run caps, monthly limits and when credits expire.

Vix Credits ("Vix") pay for agent runs in cloud workspaces. 1 US dollar of usage is 50 Vix. Agents that run on your own Mac, or on a teammate's Mac, don't use Vix.

What a run is charged for

A cloud run is charged once, when it ends, from the records Vixentio's server keeps:

  • The model's work: the tokens the run's model requests used, from Anthropic's own usage figures. With the team's own Anthropic key this part is zero, because Anthropic bills your team directly.
  • The workspace's time: the processor time the run actually used and the memory it held, from the cloud provider's own records.
  • A small fixed cost per run.

The total is converted to Vix and shown rounded up to a tenth of a Vix, so what you see is never less than what you're charged. Each run records the price table it was charged with, so it can always be checked.

Caps: no run spends more than you allowed

Every cloud run has a cap, chosen when it starts (200 Vix by default).

  1. When the run starts, its cap is held from the team's balance, so two runs can never spend the same Vix.
  2. While it runs, the model's requests are checked against what the cap has left. A request that can't be paid for isn't sent, and the run stops at its cap.
  3. When it ends, the run is charged what it actually used, and the rest of the hold goes back to the balance.

If there aren't enough Vix for the cap, the run doesn't start: "Not enough Vix for this run." Lower the cap, or ask the team's owner to buy more.

Monthly limits and notices

  • The team's owner can set a monthly limit that's lower than what the balance allows. A run that would go past it doesn't start: "Monthly limit reached."
  • The owner gets a notice at 80% and at 100% of what the month allows. Notices carry the team's name and no content.
  • Changing a limit never stops a run that's already going; it applies to new runs.

Included credits, packs and expiry

Where they come fromWhen they expire
Included VixYour plan, every monthAt the end of the month; they don't roll over
Vix from packsBought by the team's owner12 months after purchase

Runs spend included Vix first, then packs, oldest first. Packs are bought through Stripe's own checkout page; Vixentio never handles card details.

Who can see and change what

  • Everyone on the team can see the balance, the history of runs and what each one cost.
  • Only the team's owner can set the monthly limit, buy packs and choose between Vix Credits and the team's own key.
