VIXENTIO

VIXENTIO / Documentation

Getting started

Install the Mac app or open the web app, make a team, add a project and connect GitHub.

Vixentio runs as a native Mac app and in the browser. The Mac app is where projects live and where agents run on your machine; the web app lets the whole team follow, guide and review the same work from anywhere.

Install the Mac app

  1. Download Vixentio for Mac. It needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
  2. Open the disk image and drag Vixentio to Applications.
  3. Updates arrive inside the app. To check right away, choose Vixentio › Check for Updates… in the menu bar.

An account is optional for working on your own. To work with a team, sign in under Settings › Account with your email and a password, or with Google.

Open the web app

Go to vixentio.ai/app and sign in with the same account. In the browser you can follow your team's work, send guidance, add marks to live previews, review results, chat, and work on Boards. The browser doesn't run agents itself: it asks a host to, such as a teammate's Mac (see Where agents run).

Add a project on your Mac

  1. Open Projects and choose Open Local Folder… for a repository you already have, or Clone from GitHub… to clone one with your own GitHub CLI sign-in.
  2. In the sheet, check the name, the dev command and the dev server's address, and pick a Default permission mode (see Permissions and safety). Choose Add Project.
  3. Before an agent may work in the project, choose Authorize Agent Tasks…. Agents only ever work inside a project folder you authorized.

If you're asked to sign in to GitHub or install the GitHub CLI, the app offers Sign in to GitHub and Install GitHub CLI, then Check Again. Your own git and GitHub sign-in stay on your Mac; Vixentio never stores those credentials.

Make a team and invite people

A team is a shared space for one or more projects. People join with a role: owner, editor, commenter or viewer (what each may do is in Core concepts).

  • On the Mac: open the project's Team area and choose Create Team…. Add a name and people by email address with a role, then Create Team. You need to be signed in, have Sync on, and the project needs a git remote. Copy Invitation Link gives you a link to send.
  • On the web: open Settings › Teams › Create Team… and Invite people.

To make a project visible to the team, including in the web app's Projects page, its owner chooses Link to Team… on the Mac.

Connect GitHub

Two connections, made once:

  1. Each person: Settings › Account › GitHub › Connect GitHub… links your GitHub account to your Vixentio account.
  2. The team's owner: in the team's settings, under GitHub, choose Install… to install the Vixentio GitHub App on your repositories, then Connect to This Team.

Projects are matched to the team by their git remote. A project without one can get it in Project › Git with Add Remote or Create on GitHub….

Your first shared work

  1. In the project, choose New Shared Work… and describe what should change.
  2. Run it: on your Mac, on a teammate's Mac that's shared as a host, or in a cloud workspace once your team has them.
  3. Follow it in Live, send guidance, review the result, then accept and publish it. The next pages explain each step.
